READING CHALLENGES WINNERS
March 2012
Our Year 8 and Lewisham Book Award reading challenges have closed and here are some of the winners!
OLYMPIC READING CHALLENGE 2012
We have had the World Cup Readers programme, last summer the Golden Challenge and now the Olympics.
Our Olympic Reading Challenge consists of Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals. If a student completes all three levels of the challenge he becomes a Reading Champion.
Each time he completes a challenge he is allowed to choose a prize from the Library trolley of new books. Bronze is achieved by reading and logging with us one book, Silver by a further two books and Gold with another three books.
Six books altogether = Champion!
Participation also leads to a top score for Reading in the termly assessment.
YEAR 8 READING CHALLENGE 2011-12
YEAR 8 READING CHALLENGE 2010-11
176 boys participated and 50 completed all of the shortlisted books. Mr. Brady presented the prizes and the boys were thrilled to realise that more boys in their year group took part than at any time previously. Everyone who participated is a winner!
