Book Awards Worth Knowing About
Blue Peter Book Award
Forest Hill School was one of only ten schools in the country invited to participate in reading the shortlisted books and voting for the winners.
The winner of the Book of the Year award is The Considine Curse by Gareth P. Jones and the Best Children's Book of the Last 10 Years award went to Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.
Details of the boys who participated are in the Spring 2012 issue of fhs newsletter.
Branford Boase Book Award
The aim of this award is to find the most promising book for children by a first novelist. The award recognises the importance of the editor's role and so it celebrates both the author and the editor.
Ms Webb took part in the judging of the Branford Boase Award for 2012. Her reviews appear on the Library’s Facebook page: Forest Hill School Library. The books are also available to borrow from the school library.
All the books on the list are suitable for boys aged 11 - 14 so why not have a go at reading one (or more) - click here for the 2012 long list.
