Curriculum
Science at Forest Hill School seeks to provide students with a science foundation that is appropriate to their career goals and with knowledge and skills that will allow them to function as responsible and contributing members of society. This is done through a stimulating and challenging curriculum which puts science into contemporary and relevant contexts. We aim to; Develop fundamental understandings of natural systems, develop a fundamental understanding of, and ability to use, the methods of scientific inquiry, prepare students to make responsible decisions concerning science-related social issues, contribute to an understanding and fulfillment of personal needs, thus contributing to personal development, inform students about careers in the sciences.

KS3
Science is officially wicked as last year we launched Wikid Science in KS3.
Science is taught within exciting, stimulating and meaningful contexts that capture the imagination of our students. Topics include Forensics, Cook, Alien and Catastrophe.
KS4
In KS4 students follow the OCR 21st Century Science suite of courses, which offers an original, refreshing and dynamic approach to science which makes the subject more accessible and relevant to students.
The aim is to provide all students with the scientific literacy they need to be well-informed citizens in the 21st century. Most students study Double Science (Core and Additional) and some students study Triple Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).
KS5
AS/A2 Biology - Break into the world of science with A level Biology! Study fascinating topics from Biotechnology to Biodiversity. OCR- leading UK awarding body.
AS/A2 CHEMISTRY - Interested in forensic science, medicine or environmental issues? Ever wondered why a diamond can cut glass, what makes hair go curly, why icebergs float rather than sink? Chemistry is the science of how different materials are made up and why they behave as they do.
A level Physics - Are you interested in getting into some of the most exciting professions in the world? Do you want to unravel the mysteries of the Universe? Do you want to work in medicine, be a pilot or even help design solutions for the upcoming energy crisis? If the answer to any of these questions in yes, then you need to take A-level physics.
GCE Applied Science - Come and explore the world of science, study how science is applied in many different types of professions and industries. Take the opportunity to visit scientific workplaces and meet people who use science on a daily basis.
