"We learnt about paper weaving where you get two pieces of different card and made patterns. We also learnt about temari balls. It was a good trip and I learnt a lot from it. "

Sam Wright

"First we were shown some art made by an artist there. She showed us some sculptures she made which were then transformed to much larger ones."

Eamon Wen

"We started with paper weaving where you use two coloured strips of card and begin intertwining them in patterns."

Goldsmiths

A group of boys in 8F/1 went to Goldsmiths College for a day of mathematics in art. While we were there we learnt about paper weaving and then we predicted if there were any patterns that would form. Then we proved on a paper plan that there were patterns forming on its own.

Then we learnt about Tamori balls which were polystyrene balls which had a purple thread all around it held on by pins. Then we backstitched all different colour threads around the purple string. Then once we were done we predicted if there were any patterns that formed, and we proved if there were any patterns.
